The sleeping giant
The Gran Sasso is a 9553-feet-high mountain group located in central Italy. If you look it from a side perspective it looks like a sleeping giant. Its name, however, refers to the rocky nature of the massif.
Inside the Gran Sasso there is the Central of MeteoHeroes, aka CEM (Weather Experts Center), an international structure in which they work with the best scientists and meteorologists in the world. Directed by scientist Margherita Rita, CEM monitors climate change and weather events, to find solutions to possible crisis and take action during the emergencies that threaten the planet. When there is an emergency, the Central arises from Gran Sasso and becomes the operational base of any procedure.
